As part of the update to the regional mobility plan for the Brussels Capital Region, called GoodMove, in October 2017 the Vias institute took part in running a workshop on the topic of driverless, automated vehicles. The aim of the workshop was (1) to put driverless vehicles into perspective and (2) to discuss the way these vehicles will be integrated and their possible impact on mobility in the Brussels region (organised by the Smarteam consortium). A demonstration conducted when the EasyMile vehicle was being tested on a circuit at Francorchamps brought the topic into focus for the twenty or so participants.
